The MORE FM BIG Audition is searching for the best singers in NZ to perform live on The Big Night In Telethon on August 8th & 9th and then be named as the overall winner as voted by the public! All money raised from the voting will go to KidsCan Stand Tall and we'll find some new singing sensations! Plus we will soon have details of a very special trip that the overall winner will be making so stay tuned.
For the chance to be the next BIG thing, we'll be holding auditions across the country and anyone can enter from age 16 years to 90 . Local finalists as judged by you our listeners will get to go to Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch for the regional finals with guest judges and professional singing teachers and 3 finalists from each of these markets will get to perform live on The BIG Night In Telethon Show!!
BIG NIGHT IN Telethon 09 EVENT DATES:
7pm Saturday 8th August to 6pm Sunday 9th August
You must be available to travel on these dates.
In addition, there will be a local 1st round audition (as detailed below) and regional quarter final in Auckland, Wellington & Christchurch 3rd, 4th and 12th July.
If you cannot commit to these dates, please do not audition.
Experience performing in public is a strong advantage. You must be confidant, reliable, vibrant; a natural mover on stage, with charisma and the elusive “X factor”!
To audition, please complete the entry form below fully. Completion of the entry form is acceptance of the terms and conditions of this competition which are available to download at the bottom of this page so please read them carefully before entering.
Accompaniment: Everyone will sing acappella (unaccompanied) with no amplification or microphones until the finals.
Dress Code: Dress to impress by choosing something indicative of what you would wear if chosen.
What to bring: Please bring a photo with you on the day. (Non-professional is fine)
Prepare a 2-minute version of a suitable song, which you think would be the best for your voice and for the event. The judge/s may stop you before you finish the excerpt you have prepared. You can bring support person / people with you.
We are only auditioning solo singers.
We are not auditioning dancers or dance groups / crews; Bands (covers or originals); solo instrumentalists or any other performance or singing group. The Big Night In Telethon 09 team have already short-listed many amazing community and cultural performance groups, well-known bands and competition winning dance groups. If you feel your group have the skill & experience to be considered at this level, please go to the event website, www.bignightin.co.nz to find out more.
MORE FM BIG Audition local 1st Round Dates some start times are to be confirmed (TBC) and all entrants will receive confirmation prior to the date of the audition. These are “open” auditions you must complete an entry form before arriving on the day and we will contact you by email or phone to ensure you have the correct audition details. The MORE FM BIG Audition 1st Round local auditions date, venue and time maybe subject to change.
