Town Hall to Remain Open

THE decision to extend the construction period on the Dunedin Town Hall redevelopment project by a year means the town hall will remain open for business until the Regent Theatre upgrade is completed.
Work on the first part of the project, renovating the Municipal Chambers building, would start as planned this year, the Dunedin City Council said. The Dunedin Centre will now remain open until early next year, and the town hall until late next year. The proposed new construction programme will mean the Dunedin Town Hall redevelopment project will be finished in January 2013.
