Waiting, ay. You seem to have plenty of free time. Maybe instead of being a sniping tool-bag, um...

Or just, you know, doing something... anything, other than whingeing.
This recording needs more beer.

It's entirely up to me what I do with my musical talent(or lack thereof) and you're welcome to critique and insult me about it all you want but surely i'm allowed to do the same to this guys writing?

Being able to play the guitar is overrated. it stunts creativity.

Does correct spelling/grammar stunt the creativity of a novelist/poet?
Does knowing about ingredients stunt the creativity of a chef?

It's not about weather you can or can't play "properly" it's about being willing to break out of your comfort zone and being able to do so with commitment and conviction. Showing your vulnerability and being ok with it.

Learning more about theory or technique gives you more tools to use musically. It's how you choose to use (or choose to ignore) them that matters. As long as you don't get caught up in trying to be clever - it's easy to loose sight of the bigger picture when you're stuck deciding weather to use a Sus4 or add11 chord. Using the tools 'naturally' rather than forcing it is the key I think.

that's my wee rant.

ps. Aaron is awesome.

I think the key is learning the 'rules' so you can then break them

Very nicely put. Of course, it's also worth remembering that not being able to play your instruments doesn't automatically make you the [shirt]. You need more than just empty indie posturing.

That wasn't directed at Brains, by the way. (I've never actually seen them play). Just more of a general comment.
